Tunes

Will you play what I ask you to play?

Yes, I will play what you ask me to play.

What about songs that you don't have?

I will try to track down any song you request that I currently do not own in time for your event. It is important to provide a list of must have tunes in the online event planner so that I have time to find them or inform you of which if any tunes I'm unable to locate.

Will you play my CDs?

Yes, my equipment is currently capable of playing standard audio CDs as well as MP3 CDs.

Will you play my tunes from my IPod?

Yes, I have a cable which allows the headphone jack from your IPod to connect to my equipment.

Will you charge the battery in my IPod?

No.

What about songs with explicit language?

It is always my intent to avoid playing tunes with explicit content that may offend you or any of your guests.

What if my guests request a song with explicit language?

Depending on the song and just how explicit it is I will usually make a judgment call myself. If there are young children at the party I will not play tunes that I know contain explicit language. If it is an adult party I will usually play the requested song. However if the tune is what I consider extremely explicit I will check with you (the person that signed the contract to hire me, or a designated person) first before playing the song. Again, it is never my intent to offend anyone.

What if I don't know what songs I want played?

Many of my customers just tell me a couple of genres of music that they prefer be played or avoided at their event and this works out just fine. Some customers give no guidance whatsoever as to the type of music they prefer and this has always worked out fine also. I can play a mix of different genres of music and play something for everyone.

Do you play Latin music?

Latin music is not my specialty, I have some latin music in my collection but usually do not play much of it unless requested. Since I'm not able to understand the lyrics I have no way of knowing what the song is about which makes it difficult to select appropriate tunes.

What are the sample mixes that you have on your website and other sites all about? Is that the music you will play at my event?

The mixes I make are more of a club style music that I usually do not play unless you ask me to. What I do play is some of the most popular tunes from the 1950s to today.

What are those songs you have for sale?

Those are original tunes I produced myself.

Will you play your own self-produced songs at my event?

No, not unless you request to hear them.

Payment

Bank Of America

If you intend to pay me using a Bank Of America check there will be an additional $25 BOA service fee.

What methods of payment do you accept?

I accept MasterCard, VISA, American Express, Discover, and E-Checks via the PayPal online payment system. This means that I have no need to know your credit card information. PayPal is a widely used online payment system used by many people and is very secure.

Do I need a PayPal account to pay you?

No, You can pay me on the PayPal site without setting up an account.

When is final payment (balance) due?

Balance due date is available in the online planner.

Quotes

Please be aware that your date is not reserved until I receive your deposit. The best way to ensure your date is reserved is to pay your deposit online.

In addition to a deposit a signed (electronic via the online planner or paper) contract is necessary for me to perform.

In the event that two customers submit deposit online at the same time I will determine who paid first and refund the second person.

After requesting and receiving a quote how long will you hold my date?

Dates are not held until a deposit is received. I do give out multiple quotes for the same date. If you have received a quote from me and your date becomes unavailable within a week of me sending the quote I will inform you by email that your date is no longer available.

What's the best way to ensure my date is reserved?

By paying your deposit online.

If I speak to you on the phone and tell you I will book you is my date reserved?

No, not until the deposit is received and any checks or money orders are cleared. If you do not book me online via electronic payment you risk losing your date.

If I send a check in the postal mail but someone books you online before you receive my check what happens?

The person that booked online and paid the deposit online gets the date. I will return your check or issue a refund.

Is there a discount for week days?

Any discount for a particular day is included in the quote total.

Is there an extra charge for mileage?

Any mileage charge is included in the quote total.

Overtime

Do you charge overtime if my event runs longer than originally quoted?

Yes.

How much do you charge if my event runs an extra hour?

The overtime rate is $75 per half hour.

Wedding Planning

Do you meet with the bride and groom before the wedding to go over the details?

I use an online wedding event planner to obtain all the information I need to know about your wedding. If you would like to make an appointment to visit my home to discuss your wedding or other event over some freshly brewed coffee I can usually accommodate almost any request.

General Event / Party Planning

How do I tell you what songs I want played at my party?

By logging into the online event planner.

Wedding Ceremony

Do you provide wedding ceremony music?

I can provide wedding ceremony music if it is at the same location as your reception.

Do you have a wireless lapel mic for the officiant?

Yes.

Outside Events

Will you play in my backyard?

Yes, but I do require shelter from the sun, rain, or anything else that may fall from above.

What happens if a lightning storm happens during the party?

Lightning storms usually last less than 30 minutes. I will unplug the equipment and wait for it to pass assuming rain is not an issue and adequate cover is provided for myself and my equipment. Lightning is bad for you and your guests and bad for DJ equipment.

Sound Equipment

Why do you use Carvin speakers?

I use Carvin speakers because they are great sounding, highly reliable, Made in the USA, professional speaker systems. I've been using Carvin Amps, and Carvin professional audio equipment since 1980.

Do you provide microphones?

I bring a wired microphone and a wireless microphone. I use the wired microphone to make announcements and introductions. The wireless microphone is typically used for toasts and other guest speakers that prefer to speak from their table and not from the DJ setup.

Can I use your microphones to sing?

Yes.

Do you supply a mixer board?

I use a DJ mixer with mulitiple line inputs for my CD players and other audio sources. This is different from a mixer board that a live musical performance would require.

Dance Floor Lighting

Do you offer dance floor lighting?

Yes, I offer dance floor lighting.

Projector

Do you provide a projector?

Yes, it is an available option. Please request this in your quote request.

Contract

Is the contract necessary?

Yes.

What if I don't want to sign the contract?

Then please find another DJ service. I can refer you to other services however they also require a signed contract

How do I electronically sign the contract?

1. Log in to the event planner
2. In the Contract Agreement section enter your name
3. Check the check box that confirms that you have read and understand the contract.

Why do you use electronic signature instead of a printed contract?

1. No contracts being lost in the mail.
2. No contracts being lost.
3. No postage expense.
4. Nothing to print.
5. Environmentally friendly.

Attire

Will you wear a tuxedo to my event?

No.

What will you wear?

Depending on your event I will dress accordingly.

• Formal: White button down shirt, black tie, black pants, black shoes
• Informal: Golf/Polo style shirt with collar, black or khaki pants, brown or black shoes
• Casual: T-Shirt, Jeans, Shorts

Karaoke

Do you provide Karaoke?

No.

Do you sing?

No.

Party Handouts

Do you supply party handouts?

Yes, just add as an option during your quote request.

What type of party handouts do you offer?

Please check the available options section (Step 3) of the quote request page for current offerings.

If I supply my own party favors will you hand them out for me?

Yes.

Games

Will you play games with my guests?

I usually do not initiate any games unless this is prearranged in the event planning stage. My main function at your event is to play music and make announcements.

Kids

Will you keep the kids out of trouble so the parents can enjoy themselves?

If your event requires entertaining young children I'm able to coordinate an additional entertainer that specializes in child entertainment for example a clown, magician or balloon twister.

Other

Will you take photos or video of me and my guests at my private event to use on your website or youtube?

At private events I only photograph or videograph the facilities and my setup for future customers to have an idea of what my setup will look like at their event.

Will you dance and jump around on the dance floor to motivate my guests?

No, This may end up scaring your guests away if I did this.
